Portfolio Development (120 Clock Hours)

The educational objective of the Portfolio Development Course is to serve as a finishing course for students who have completed the Beauty Make-up Artistry and the Studio Hairstyling Courses, or have equivalent experience. The course is divided in to two sections: business skill development & portfolio development. Each student will use the skills that they have developed in the Beauty Make-up Artistry and Studio Hairstyling courses to work as an assistant make-up artist and a key make-up artist in a series of photo shoots. These photo shoots are designed to introduce the student to the working environment and provide them with photos that they can use to help develop their portfolios.

Professional models and photographers are used in order to create a realistic working environment. When taken with the Beauty Make-up Artistry and Studio Hairstyling Courses, this course will prepare the student to work as an entry-level make-up artist for print, advertising, fashion and the cosmetic retail industries.

This course when as a stand-alone course, while approved by New York State Education Department, is not accredited by ACCSCT. Additionally, services offered to other students and graduates such as financial aid and placement assistance are not offered to students and graduates of this stand-alone course.

Upon successful completion of this course a Certificate of Completion is awarded.
